Heat treatment process for aluminum profile processing

The main process in the processing of aluminum profiles is: the billet is formed by hot extrusion, and then finished by rolling or stretching, finishing and heat treatment, or directly by hot extrusion. It can be seen that the final performance of the aluminum shaped product is mainly determined by the heat treatment, that is, the heat treatment of the finished product.

 

Generally, the heat treatment of the finished products of aluminum profiles mainly includes finished annealing, intermediate return, solution treatment, quenching, natural aging and artificial aging treatment. At the same time, a graded aging and deformation heat treatment process has also been developed. The aging treatment not only improves the mechanical properties of the product, but also improves the stress corrosion resistance and fracture toughness of the product. Generally, the transfer time from solution heating to quenching should generally be controlled within 30 seconds.

 

It should be noted that in order to ensure the quality of the processed products of aluminum profiles, the cooling rate of the aluminum profile processing is not only to ensure the obtaining of a supersaturated solid solution, but also to cause excessive quenching stress and bending deformation of the product. The quenching is generally carried out in a salt bath, and the new process is quenched by an air-cushion continuous quenching furnace.
